AMP is proud to be a part of the People for Effective and Ethical Research (PEER), a coalition of scientific societies, animal research advocacy organizations, veterinary associations, and research institutions committed to strengthening the animal research community’s presence in legislative and policymaking arenas. PEER’s mission is to raise awareness and provide evidence-based education to key decisionmakers on Capitol Hill and leaders across federal agencies who influence the conduct, review, and funding of lifesaving research.
PEER’s advocacy materials, shared below, highlight the continued importance of animal research and the value of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) alongside animal studies. These resources are intended to help the research community foster a more balanced, informed discussion about biomedical research and the range of scientific tools needed to advance human and animal health.
