- There is a registration fee. Early registration (before April 1) is $350.00. Regular registration is $450.00 Payment is required to hold your students spot. Scholarships for those in need are available. Contact us for more information.
- CuriousScienceWriters (cSw) is a program of Americans for Medical Progress, a non-profit organization.
- CuriousScienceWriters is an extracurricular training program for high school students interested in communicating to the general public about biomedical science.
- Professional science communicators mentor students.
- All writing is done outside of school during the summer and in some cases, during the school year.
- Students will need to attend one meeting via web/phone with the cSw editing team during the school year as part of the editing process before their story is published.
- Student writers will interview content experts (scientists/researchers, patients, etc.) online, by phone or in person to develop stories.
- The program is a week-long virtual day camp. Attendance and participation by your student is a mandatory part of the program.
cSw has permission to:*
- Use the name of my son/daughter in connection with online postings (including images) unless my child or I request otherwise.
- Publish photographs in which my child may be identified, for promotional purposes, unless my child or I request otherwise.
My child has permission to:*
- Participate in the cSw Virtual Boot Camp • July 12-16 • 9 – 5pm.
- Work with a professional mentor to write, edit, design or promote stories about biomedical science.
- Share and engage with cSw stories via diverse media with the guidance of cSw’s professional mentors.
